On 30 January, The Guardian published in an editorial its view on Libya, drawing on the Berlin conference which gathered Libya’s main political and military actors as well as foreign powers involved in the Libyan file. For The Guardian, the conference’s outcomes lack substance and do not set the ground for the end of fighting. In their understanding, the Berlin conference did not only reveal the weakness of the European Union as a mediator, but also highlighted the growing importance of foreign actors, such as Turkey.Click here to read the editorial.
