On 11 September, Germany announced via the German ambassador to Libya to host an international conference about Libya, Reuters reported. Germany hopes that the event will lead toward a solution for the stabilization on Libya. The organisation of the conference is reportedly still in the early stages, hence it remains unclear which actors will be participating and how Germany envisions to set the ground for meaningful results. Indeed, over the course of the past two years, there have been several similar initiatives, among which the February 2017 Cairo meeting between Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez Al-Sarraj and General Khalifa Haftar, the Paris conference in July 2017, the Palermo international Conference in November 2018 and also the March 2019 Abu Dhabi meeting between Haftar and Sarraj.
