There have been growing tensions regarding the Libyan constitution, as reported in this article published by Asharq Alwasat on 2 August. The tensions result from the House of Representatives' failure on 30 and 31 July to vote on the new constitution and its decision to postpone the vote for another two weeks. The vote on a new constitution stands as the next step to pave the way for the elections that the Government of National Accord (GNA), supported by the UN and the international community, intends to hold by the end of 2018.
