Founder of Libya-Analysis Jason Pack was quoted by David Gilbert in an article published with Vice on 9 April. Gilbert reports the launch of the counteroffensive by forces affiliated with the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) against Libyan National Army (LNA) forces. The aim of the operation called ‘Volcano of Anger’ is to retake the positions overtaken by LNA fighters in Tripoli, such as the defunct Tripoli International Airport (TIA) in the South of the city. For Pack, the LNA offensive does not indicate that General Haftar intends to overtake Tripoli by force but interprets it as a communication strategy ahead of the UN-led National Conference.Click here to read the article.
