In a series of tweets, the UN Envoy to Libya Martin Kobler requested ‘immediate investigations’ into the bodies of 14 people found in a Benghazi rubbish dump. The UN Envoy described it as ‘a war crime’.

Mohamed Eljarh (Non-resident fellow at the Atlantic Council) pointed out that the LNA (Libyan National Army which is a militia led by General Haftar) and Al-Thini’s government are responsible for the ‘Al-lithi rubbish dump massacre’ as LNA and Al-Thini’s government are controlling the area.
