On Tuesday, April 21st, I was on BBC 5 Live's Drive Programme starting from 6:05 pm discussing the humanitarian and strategic issues of the migrant crisis. It turned out to be a very sleek piece of radio. You can listen by clicking here. The clip starts from 2:05:55, And there is some very gripping and tragic background and human interest stories, I then start analysing the high politics at 2:11:00.The next morning, I got the following lovely piece of unsolicited fan mail:
Hi Jason,I don't know you but I just wanted to congratulate you on what I thoughtwas a really interesting and impressive analysis during your slot on Radio5 Live last night.I have nothing to do directly (personally nor professionally) with eitherLibya or the unfolding Mediterranean situation - but whilst listening tothe radio last night (whilst doing the washing up) I found yourconstruction of bigger picture really very interesting. So just wanted to say thanks for sharing your knowledge and insights, providing a really informative analysis, and in particular sharing yourdefinite thoughts on how to best handle the situation. Was a veryinteresting strategic view.Anyway, felt compelled to write you an email and just say how much Ienjoyed it.Many Thanks and Best Wishes, [name withheld for his privacy]
