Reports of armed French individuals in Libya

On 17 April, Al Jazeera reported two separate incidents involving European armed groups attempting to cross the border from Libya to Tunisia. Further reports suggest that the individuals crossing the border were armed French diplomats. The French government claims they were part of a security protocol. For Ibrahim Fraihat, it demonstrates the involvement of France in the Libyan crisis, and the ambiguous role it plays.
