Russia's Libyan policy

On 22 March, Kirill Semenov discussed in article published with Al-Monitor Russia’s positioning in the Libyan political landscape, following critics claiming that Russia only supports General Haftar and the Libyan National Army (LNA). For Semenov, the evidence of Russia maintaining a balanced policy on Libya was demonstrated by the visit of Khaled Al-Mishri, president of Libya’s High Council of State (HCS) to Russia’s Federal Council in Moscow on 17 March, Al-Mishri being a longstanding opponent of Haftar.
