In an article published in the New York Review of Books, Libya specialist Frederic Wehrey discusses the Desert Encounter, a book recounting the travels and thoughts of Knud Holmboe in 1930’s Libya. Holmboe has often been compared to the mythic Lawrence of Arabia, though the two characters differ.
