For founder of Libya-Analysis LLC Jason Pack, in an article published with Middle East Institute (MEI) on 4 May, Khalifa Haftar has recently been engaging in “wild and contradictory actions” to capture media attention. Pack refers to Khalifa Haftar’s televised address on 27 April in which he claimed that the LNA had a “popular mandate” to rule Libya and declared his intent to overrule international accords such as the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) and also the announcement on 29 April that the Libyan National Army (LNA) would agree to international calls for a humanitarian truce for Ramadan.Click here to read the full article.
