On 17 January, the UN Security Council published the Report of the Secretary-General, covering political, security and economic developments in Libya as well as the activities of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) since the previous report on 25 August 2021. The report provides a useful overview of events in Libya over the last five months including the postponement of elections, the status of the the intra-Libyan dialogue tracks, and international and regional engagement.
