On 11 March, Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, announced the designation of Stephanie Turco Williams of the United States to act as the UN Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) until the appointment of a successor for Ghassan Salame.
