Karim Mezran and Dario Cristiani published on 23 February an article for The National Interest, in which they argue that a political solution to the Libyan crisis can only be found after the military situation on the ground has been clarified. For Mezran and Cristiani, Libya needs first a military solution to support a political one. In that regard, they call for the international community, and most particularly to the United States, to exert pressure on Haftar’s foreign backers.
