International media outlets report the abduction on 17 July of Seham Sergawa in Benghazi. Sergawa is an elected member of the Eastern-based House of Representatives (HOR) as well as a women’s rights activist. Reports suggest that Sergawa was abducted at her home by armed men allegedly affiliated with a local Eastern militia after criticizing publicly the conflict in Tripoli between Khaliha Haftar’s forces and factions aligned with the Government of National Accord (GNA).Click here to read the CNN report.
