Chatham issues report on Conflict Economies in the Middle East and North Africa

On 25 June Chatham House published a report untitled ‘Conflict Economies in the Middle East and North Africa’, in which Tim Eaton, Dr Renad Mansour, Peter Salisbury, Dr Lina Khatib, Dr Christine Cheng and Jihad Yazigi contributed. The focus of the report on economics stands an as attempt to address the MENA’s region issues through lenses other than identity. As a result, the report outlines the common economic factors that continue to drive conflict in Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen and elaborate a set of recommendations to Western policymakers addressing these types of sub-economies in detail.Click here to read the report.
