On 31 August, Guma El-Gamaty published an article with Al Jazeera addressing the issue of the stabilization of Libya. He identifies that Libya’s instability is fueled by numerous causes, both internal and external. El-Gamaty insists on the impact of external interference in Libya, and how it aggravates the weakness of Libyan institutions. He then presents several recommendations to address this core issue, such as protecting Libya from external influences by regional or international power, pursuing the current efforts to draft a new constitution and also dissolving the militias.
