On 30 August, Casper Wuite wrote in The Interpreter about Saif al-Islam Gaddafi’s chances in the Libyan elections that are expected to take place in December 2018. According to the article, it remains unclear whether the candidacy of the son of the former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi would be accepted by Libya’s electoral commission and where he would fit on Libya’s political spectrum.
