European Unity needed for Libyan stability

In an article for EuroReporter Politics published on 16 July, Colin Stevens analyses European Parliament president Antonio Tajani’s latest statements on the Libyan crisis. In a run-up of a visit to Libya, Tajani invited the member countries of the European Union to ‘speak with one voice’ and insisted on the link between the stabilization of Libya and the stability of the European Union. For Stevens, these comments stand as a response to the competition for influence that has lately been taking place in Libya between European powers such as France and Italy and the debates over the migration issue.
