In an interview published on 09 September by French Newspaper Liberation, UN Special Envoy to Libya Ghassan Salamé stated that General Haftar is considering a possible withdrawal from the Tripoli area and demanded guarantees, Middle East Monitor reports on 10 September. According to Salamé’s declaration, Haftar is reportedly negotiating the withdrawal of Libyan National Army (LNA) forces in exchange for appointments in important state posts.
