Following up on the release of ICC-wanted Libyan warlord Osama Al-Masri Njeem from Italy recently, the article takes a closer look at Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s involvement in the controversial decision. The authors argue that the scandal has ‘raised serious questions over the extent to which Italian officials are willing to make unsavory compromises to protect interests in a region riven by war and corruption.’
