French newspaper Le Point reports about freedom on press in Libya. On 17 March, French NGO “Reporters sans Frontières” (RSF), which is dedicated to the fight for the freedom of press, alerted in a communique about the absence of such rights in Libya. Deploring the death of at least 19 reporters since 2011, RSF denounces a strong hostility against journalists in Libya. According to the communique, there have also been several cases of journalists disappearing, being kidnapped or tortured over the past year. RSF’s communique was co-signed by the Libyan Center for Freedom of Press. Committed to protect and maintain freedom of press in Libya, this Center actively fights for the protection of journalists, addressing cases of disappearance and assaults on members of the press in the country.Click here to read the report.
