In a recent blog post, officers from the United States Institute of Peace described how the Institute recently brought together individuals concerned with the plight of people with disabilities (PWDs) living in Ubari, in Libya's South. Working with the local Azjar Association, the dialogue process included representatives of all three of Ubari's tribal groups and aimed to deal with both societal reconciliation following Libya's conflict as well as legal discrimination facing PWDs. The dialogue helped PWDs engage with government institutions and advocate for their rights as well as deal with larger transitional justice issues.Click here to read the blog post.
