In an article published with Al-Monitor on 21 November, Turkish journalist Fehim Tastekin questions whether Turkey will remain involved in the international efforts towards the resolution of the Libyan crisis in the aftermath of the Palermo Conference. Turkey decided to withdraw from the Palermo Conference after being excluded with Qatar from an unofficial gathering, which was attended by Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, European Council President Donald Tusk and Salame.
